A little hormone talk.
Hormones, hormones, hormones!
Hormones are like our body’s internal messages. They’re produced by the thyroid, pancreas, adrenal glands, ovaries, and testes, then travel through the bloodstream to tell our body how to function.
They help regulate:
Metabolism + energy use // how efficiently we burn and store fuel
Mood + brain health // from stress resilience to mental clarity
Reproductive cycles // fertility, menstrual health, pregnancy, and libido
Growth + repair // muscle recovery and bone strength
Sleep + circadian rhythms // when we feel awake and when we wind down
Blood sugar + digestion // how we process food and nutrients
When hormones are balanced, your body feels harmonious. But when they’re out of balance, it can feel like your whole system is struggling.
Key hormones
Estrogen + Progesterone // essential for menstrual cycles, fertility, bone density, and cardiovascular health
Testosterone // supports strength, bone health, motivation, and sexual health (women need it in small amounts too!)
Cortisol // our stress hormone
Thyroid (T3 + T4) // regulate metabolism, temperature, and energy
Insulin // manages blood sugar
Melatonin // promotes sleep
Misconceptions about hormones
One of the biggest myths in health is that hormone health only matters for women — especially in relation to menstruation, fertility, pregnancy, and menopause. Since women’s cycles are visibly tied to monthly changes, the conversation usually ends there.
But the truth? Men also have hormones that fluctuate, decline, and become imbalanced. Testosterone, for example, decreases with age and can lead to fatigue, low libido, mood shifts, increased body fat, and reduced muscle strength. Cortisol doesn’t choose sides either — men can experience anxiety, poor sleep, high blood pressure, and weight gain just like women. Thyroid disorders affect men too, yet often go untreated.
The lack of awareness around male hormone health means many ignore symptoms or fail to get tested until issues have significantly progressed. On the other hand, women experiencing symptoms outside of menstruation are often dismissed. Hormone health is central to everyone’s wellbeing. Just as women need healthy levels of testosterone, men also require healthy levels of estrogen.
By broadening the conversation about hormones for both men and women, we can create space for long-term vitality.

My next step — specializing in hormone health!
Living with PCOS has shown me firsthand how deeply hormones can affect life — from energy and mood to digestion, skin, and overall confidence. This journey has given me compassion and perspective. Because I know what it feels like to search for answers and crave real solutions, it only makes sense that my next step is to help others who may be walking a similar path. That’s why I’ve chosen to specialize in hormone health!!
Yoga alone has taught me that health is about balance — regulating stress, listening inward, and creating space for the body to restore itself. Through that lens, I want to offer a unique and integrative approach that empowers others to reconnect with their bodies through both yoga and holistic ways of living.
Combining education, practical tools, and empathy, I hope to help others:
Recognize the signs of imbalance
Use lifestyle changes to support healthy hormones
Reduce stress and inflammation naturally
Advocate for themselves in medical settings
Find a path toward long-term balance
Thank you to everyone who continues to follow along :) love ya
